Europass

The Europass can be used in 31 European countries and consists of the following documents:

  • Language Passport – description of language competences
  • Mobility – record of training and work experiences gathered abroad
  • Certificate Supplement – description of VET competences
  • Diploma Supplement – detailed description of competence acquired in higher education

Europass Mobility

IFA is the central information office for Europass Mobility in Austria. The Europass Mobility is available for all people – in particular for pupils, apprentices and students – and can be used in the 27 member states of the European Union, in the EFTA/EEA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as well as in Turkey.

What are the advantages of the Europass Mobility?

The Europass Mobility

  • makes work experiences visible,
  • helps companies get a clear picture of the competences applicants have acquired abroad and
  • takes vocational as well as personal and social competences into account.

In order to use the Europass Mobility the following requirements have to be met:

  • organised periods of time spent abroad for the purpose of learning or training
  • periods must be spent in one the 31 participating European countries
  • written agreement between the sending and hosting organisation on contents, objectives and duration of the experience abroad,
  • mentors in the partner organisations, indicated by name
